Find out a little bit about me!
A bit about me
Hi, I'm Shannon Drury
Thanks for checking out my website.
My heart is to help people. From a young age, I have always wanted to serve God in whatever way He wanted me to. When I was young, I thought it would as a senior pastor and while it may still happen, God had a different way of outworking this desire.
I was very blessed to accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour at 8 and for over 35 years, I have been walking with Him, just trying my best to follow His directions.
One step was to go to Hillsong College in my early 20’s. This experience started my learning about leadership and creativity. It stirred within me the desire to learn about leadership and how to help outwork it in many different areas. It also stirred a love for research of the Scriptures and of better ways of doing things. Little did I know where this would take me.
Leaving Bible College, I began working in the Human Resources field for a well known hotel company, God using this company to start me on a journey of development of my administration and business gift. Developing this gift meant undertaking further study. So I’ve completed a Bachelor of Business (HR Management), a Master of Business Administration and am currently undertaking a Master of Arts with the hope of being able to study a Doctorate in Business Administration in the near future.
My work and ministry is currently as the Director of Projects and Student Administration at Christian Heritage College, where I serve God through the gifts He has given me in the administration field.
All this study has a specific purpose – I wish to build the Kingdom of God in a practical way through helping those who are doing the Lord’s work. How this looks will be flexible but my aim is to formally train others in understanding administration, business and theology. I am also a writer and in the process of hopefully finalising a few books of different genres that can help people.
On a personal side, I have been happily married to Nellie for nearly 20 years and have 3 growing children, Josiah, Ethan and Hope. Growing up I had my fair share of challenges coming from a home with divorced parents. I also experienced abuse, rejection and instability which contributed to being diagnosed with depression and post traumatic stress disorder a decade ago. Our family has also been impact by having a child with special needs and the experiences associated with that. Everything that I experienced and how we grew through this journey is something I will also be sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and keep an eye out for all the different resources that I going to release soon.
Cheers
